Team Achilles Battles The Wall At New Jersey

July 1, 2014 - Santa Clarita, Calif. – Formula DRIFT returned to Wall Speedway in Wall Township, New Jersey last weekend with record attendance at the banked oval course. Team Achilles drivers battled wet practice conditions, mechanical issues, and faced each other in a key match-up to give fans a show to remember.

Daigo Saito, Robbie Nishida and Dave Briggs all retired early after Saito faced OMT call against Ryan Tuerck, Nishida’s Lexus SC300 had a mechanical issue and Briggs had a tough battle against Dai Yoshihara in the Top 32. Kenny Moen, Dean Kearney, and Charles Ng all moved forward with Moen bowing out in the Top 16 and Kearney and Ng facing each other in the Great 8. Charles Ng would win that battle and finish the event in 4th place – his best finish of the season.

Kenny Moen currently sits in 4th place and Robbie Nishida is in 8th place in overall points.

Formula DRIFT Round 5 – Throwdown will be held on July 18th and 19th at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Washington. This will be the second round of the new PRO2 series.
